Laminitis Treatment

The control and management of laminitis can be a major challenge to the equine veterinary surgeon.

At Capontree we have access to a full range of diagnostic facilities including radiography, metabolic profiling and Laminitic risk profiling. All of these diagnostic aids help to ensure that we achieve an accurate diagnosis quickly.

We can also access a range of laminitic hoof support devices to ensure further rotation and disruption to the laminae is minimised.

From our experience early diagnosis and speed is of the essence. If your horse or pony has a bout of laminitis with no obvious cause, it is more important than ever to take a blood sample and screen for Metabolic syndrome or PPID (Cushing’s). A useful link is – Talk about laminitis.
