Nutrition in Beef Cattle

Beef cattle are under different production stresses from their cousins the dairy cow.

As with Dairy cows the emphasis is upon maximising production from home grown forages .However with beef cows utilising body condition is more desirable and trace element issues tend to be more of an issue that energy. Routine blood sampling and liver biopsies to establish trace elements is essential to ensure maximum production and optimal calf viability.
