Joanne joined Capontree straight from school, when the practice was still on Longtown Road, and after a spell both nursing and as a member of our support staff, is now our head receptionist, working primarily with our farm clients at Brampton.
Joanne has two children and is married to Peter, who farms locally.
Joanne joined the practice straight from school in 1997 when the new purpose built building at Brampton opened. She began her work as a trainee veterinary nurse but later joined the administration team where she now continues her role. Joanne lives with her husband John and 2 daughters on the family farm in Northumberland. She has always had an interest in animals and their welfare. During her spare time, Joanne enjoys spending time with her family and friends and can often be heard from St James Park supporting her local football team…Newcastle United!!
Megan joined the Capontree Vets team in February 2010. Initially a part time member of our reception staff, she has continued to increase the hours which she works. Megan divides her time between both Brampton and our Haltwhistle branch, where she can be found greeting our small animal clients on reception. Megan is also involved in the running of our social media pages.
Megan, who lives in Haltwhistle, spends a lot of her spare time catching up with friends and family. She also enjoys taking holidays abroad seeking the sunshine and a taste of different cultures; having sampled Africa she is now looking to visit parts of Asia.
Lauren joined us in July 2022 as part of our Reception Team and is based at our Longtown and Brampton branches.
Vicky joined the Capontree reception team in July 2022 and will be based mainly at the Brampton and Haltwhistle surgeries.
Jeanette joined the Capontree Team in November 2022 as a part time member of our reception team, working in mainly small animal at Brampton and Haltwhistle.
Jeanette, who lives in Gilsland, in her spare time enjoys walking and swimming, also catching up with family and friends
Marie joined the Capontree team in June 2023 and works at both Brampton and Longtown between small and large animal.
She moved to Cumbria in May 2023 to live with her partner, prior to this she worked in a veterinary practice as a veterinary care assistant.
Marie enjoys all aspects of her job, especially meeting new people and working as a team.
Outside of work, she enjoys walking her dog, Bailey, socializing with friends and family and helping on a family dairy farm.
Helen joined the Capontree reception team in January 2024 and will be working mainly at Brampton on both the large and small animal teams.
She lives on the family farm with husband Malcolm and family . They have 5 dogs; a German Shepherd, Luna, a Hungarian Viszla, Amber, and three working Collies .
When not at the vets Helen enjoys being with the cows and calves at home. She likes doing a number of crafts when she has time and also loves going to music concerts.
Joanne joined us in 2024 and works on the small animal desk at the Haltwhistle and Brampton surgeries.
She has always been an animal lover, especially anything equine related. Joanne currently has 2 horses, 3 dogs and 4 cats on her smallholding.
Joanne has also just qualified as an Assistant Dog groomer and is hoping to achieve her Level 3 one day.
Katie joined our reception team in May 2025 and will be seen mainly at the Brampton surgery.
Originally from a small village in south Northumberland before moving to the Newcastle area and finally settling in Brampton in 2016. Always had a love of animals both large and small. Over the years I have owned dogs, cats, rabbits, and reptiles. I currently own a 12 year old whippet, which I rescued when he was 7 months old.
Worked in the veterinary profession for over 25 years and achieved becoming a Registered Animal Medicines Advisor/SQP in 2023 and a Registered Veterinary Client Care Advisor in 2024. I joined Capontree Vets in October 2025 as a Veterinary Administrator dealing with pet insurance claims.
In my spare time I make beaded jewellery, enjoy painting, sewing, and getting out in the countryside.
