Fiona Armstrong BVMS MRCVS

Fiona joined us in March 2017 after a spell in mixed practice in Scotland. She is a local, being well known to most of the farming community and in 2019 she married Stuart, a local farmer.

Fiona works as a mixed vet, seeing both small and large animals, predominantly in Brampton and Haltwhistle. She has taken a keen interest in several health initiatives, including the BVD Stamp it out campaign in England

Louise Carruthers

Louise joined us in 2019 slotting quickly into our reception team. She is to be found at our Brampton reception

Megan Luffman BVMS MRCVS

Megan joined the small animal team at Capontree in June 2018 after a brief spell in mixed practice following her graduation from Glasgow University in the summer of 2017.

Megan is interested in all aspects of small animal practice, but is developing a particular interest in medicine and ultrasonography.

Hannah Ireland

Hannah joined Capontree in December 2019, and is settling in well - she can be found working at our Brampton and Longtown branches

Henrietta Bowie BVMS MRCVS

Henrietta graduated in 2017 from Glasgow and after a 2 year spell in the North East of England, she came to Capontree in 2019.

Henrietta has a particular interest in large animal work, especially preventative health schemes with both sheep and cattle, but also likes to keep up-to-date with smaller animals and can be seen consulting at our Brampton branch.

In her spare time, Henrietta enjoys taking her Border Terrier Haggis for a walk or heading out for a ride on her horse.

Daisy Hawkins BVMS MRCVS

Daisy joined our large animal vet team in December 2019. After graduating in 2017 Daisy is freshly returned to the UK from a spell working in large animal practice in New Zealand. Daisy will predominantly be working with farm animals from our Longtown branch. Away from work Daisy enjoys keeping fit with walking, crossfit and running.

Heather Robinson BVSc MRCVS

Heather joined our team in February 2020 after a spell in first opinion practice in the Southern Lake District. She will be focusing mainly on small animal work at our Brampton and Haltwhistle practices, but may also be seen working with horses and at the occasional lambing.

Sam McNabney BVM&S MRCVS

Sam joined our team at the beginning of September 2020, graduating in the Covid-Class of that summer. He spent a spell seeing practice with us so will already be a familiar face on some farms. Sam is joining us predominantly to work with large animals, but enjoys small animal consulting and surgery too.

Pauline Graham - Director CVPM

My career in the veterinary world started over 35 years ago as a Saturday girl, joining the practice at that time “Carnegie and Taylor” based at Longtown Road, Brampton.
On leaving school I was offered a job at the practice as Nurse/Receptionist, which also allowed me to work on the family farm at The Banks, Lanercost.  I was trained with MAFF as a lay blood tester and tested cows for Brucellosis within the practice.
As time progressed my interests focused on administration and practice management.  In 2000 I studied for and passed my “Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management”.
In 2006 I was appointed as a Director at Capontree Vets and in 2012 I was President of the Veterinary Practice Management Association (VPMA).
Currently I am also a Director for the XL Vets Broomhall Buying Services Ltd and a council member for the VPMA.
With my role I enjoy working with and meeting people; the many different characters of life means no day is ever the same.  It's a pleasure to work with motivated and positive staff with a professional approach to life.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my dog, travelling -  especially skiing and cycling in Europe, socialising with family and friends and generally being involved in community life.
